Gel Filtration Chromatography Protocol

Running a size exclusion column

applying the sample
Pour the beads under glass rods (placed in the middle of the tube)
Let the beads settle, and then connect the upper part of the buffer reservoir
Wash buffer twice as much (they recommend seven volumes of beads to wash initially and wash between samples)
Measuring the volume of the bed (ie height of beads)
Let the buffer run up the column
Stop column

Gel Filtration Chromatography Protocol

Points of rubber tubing around Pasteur pipette
Slowly apply the sample side column
Let samples run to the top of the column
Stop column
Adding a bit more buffer
Let the column drain down
Then, apply a sufficient buffer and start connecting the reservoirs again
